Academic Video - YuJa - UNK Learning Management

Video Content

The University of Nebraska System has decided to move forward with full implementation of YuJa as our video content management solution replacement of VidGrid. VidGrid will remain available for use through the Spring 2023 semester.

YuJa is an all-in-one video experience to securely create, manage, discover, and collaborate video content across any device.

For a period of time, both YuJa and VidGrid are available for use.

Training

UNK YuJa Training
NU YuJa Training Schedule

Members of the Academic Technology team are available to provide YuJa training to groups of faculty or by registering for one of our workshops. If your department or college would like to schedule a training session, please contact Jane Petersen (jpetersen@nebraska.edu).   

Additionally, a trainer from YuJa will also be providing optional training sessions during the months of August and September that are open to the entire NU system. The full training schedule and zoom meeting links can be accessed at NU YuJa Training Schedule. No registration is required, simply click the link to join the Zoom session at the appropriate time.

Captioning

  • Machine Captioning
    • All videos created or uploaded by faculty to YuJa are automatically machine captioned at ~90-95% accuracy.
  • Human Captioning (99%+ accuracy for accommodations)
    • Currently, professional/human captioning at 99%+ accuracy is attained through the continued use of VidGrid.

YuJa Training Schedule

Canvas is the preferred access method for faculty and students

  • Faculty

    • YuJa is enabled in all Canvas courses. To disable YuJa in your Canvas course, go to Settings > Navigation > Disable YuJa

    • This method provides the most robust reporting and analytics 

  • Students
    • You will not see YuJa in your Canvas course until the instructor enables it.
